Merry Christmas from the Boys

Hi Y'all,

We want to wish you all a very happy Christmas. Sorry we won't be seeing you this year. We're doing well. Glad to be on holidays. Looking forward to coming home and not moving all the time. Looking forward to playing some sport but we're really looking forward to playing with our friends who we've missed a lot.

Please pray that we sell our bus and car. God bless you,
Campbell, Wesley and Angus.

New York to Florida

Dear Friends and Family,

We want to wish you a very Happy Christmas. May you have the chance to rest and reflect on 2011, enjoy your families and wish Jesus a Happy Birthday.  May our Lord in His goodness bring you wonderful opportunities and growth in the New Year.

In this blog update there's just some reflections on some of the places we've visited recently.
So this blog takes us down the east coast - New York to Florida.

New York -
Busy, populated, rushing, people lovely.
Loads to do and see, icons of our world- Madam Liberty, Carnegie Hall, Rockafella Centre,
Wow Central Park, 4 miles x 1 mile, established in 1860's, enormous vision.
4 museums in 1 day!
Expensive.
Saw the Dead Sea scrolls, amazing.
World Trade - sobering.
USS Intrepid aircraft carrier, impressive and huge, 3500 people can live on her.
Visited C3 church in New York and met some Aussies, wonderful.

Philidelphia - Another walk down history lane, Declaration of Independence writing.

Lancaster, Pensylvania -
Stayed 1 week, Barry off to Kansas City with friend 'Steve' to a Christian businessmans conference.
He had an amazing time.
The boys and I looked into Amish life, built some sheds and planes, tried a new laserzone playground, fun.  Walked through a reconstruction of the Old Testament Tabernacle.
Saw The Miracle of Christmas musical. Absolutely outstanding.  Mary was an amazing girl.
Happy Birthday Barry in Kansas.
Attended a Mennonite Church, very nice.
Sleepout for 3 boys in the playground 'ship', but got interupted by a skunk!

Gettysburg Pensylvania -
Civil War battlefield, very bloody, lost 30 000 in one day.

Baltimore Maryland -
Given free tickets to the Aquarium, wow.  Enjoyed the dolphin show and the Christmas 3D movie.
Silver Springs Thanksgiving parade.  I thought would go for .5 an hour, went 2.5 hours. Amazing.

Washington DC -
Happy 90th Birthday Dad, awesome.
Doing some 'fix ups' to the bus to get ready for sale.
Heather flies home for a surprise 4 day visit for Dad's party, very exciting unexpected week.
Boys had a wonderful time together, seeing Washington.
Boys invited to someone's home for Thanksgiving, Thank you Lord and well done Bazza!
Heather reunited.

Mannassas & Lexington Virginia -
Visited President Jefferson's home and university, fascinating man.
Jefferson wrote the Declaration of Independence.
The boys performed their own 'Little Miss Polly' on a stage at the RV park, quite enjoyable.
Happy Birthday Heather.

Galax, North Carolina -
Blue Ridge Parkway, several days of driving through forest, road made just for visitors, probably saw the park at it's worst in winter, pretty bare and barren, huge though, great concept.
Met some intersting home schoolers at church.  They attend home schooling conferences for networking where over 800 families attend!

Congaree National Park, South Carolina -
2 mile boardwalk through swamp, relaxing.

Charleston, South Carolina -
Loved it.  Beautiful, old, sandstone, full of character.  Gorgeous southern homes.
Visited Magnolia Gardens Plantation and Drayton Hall Plantation, fascinating look at slavery.
Enjoying the southern drawl.
More Civil War  - the 4 year battle began here at Fort Sumter.

Beaufort and Savannah, SC and Georgia -
More beautiful southern homes and neighbourhoods.
More Forts, more Junior Ranger programs.
Witnessed a cannon being fired, caboom.

Cape Canaveral, Florida -
AHHHHHH, warmer weather, love it!  We can take it.
Think space, think courage, think teamwork on a huge scale, think perseverance, think huge.

Orlando, Florida -
We're so looking forward to the happy days ahead this week, we're all so excited.

Well, that's it, a few reflections.  Trust they made sense and thanks for reading this far.  It's been really cold for us, so the warmer weather is so welcome especially when all our Australian friends/family are in summer!

Much love, Heather and Barry, Campbell, Wesley and Angus xxxxx
